Shaheed Bhagat Singh. A name recorded in the pages of Indian history, whose stories of sacrifice we and you heard and read since childhood. Born on 28 September 1907 in Banga (now in Pakistan) of Lailpur district, Bhagat Singh, at the young age of just 23, was laughing at the snare of the nation.

23 March 1931 was the date. When the British gave him death. However, his works always inspired the youth of the country for the freedom of the nation. Many people played an important role in the Indian freedom struggle by following their path. Where many people did not agree with Bhagat Singh's revolutionary approach. 1. Bhagat Singh did not want to get married. In such a situation, his parents tried to marry him, so he left his home and went to Kanpur. He had left the house saying "If I was married in slave India, my bride would only die".


2. He along with Sukhdev planned to avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai and conspired to kill Superintendent of Police James Scott in Lahore. However, he shot British police officer John Saunders due to a mistake in identification.

3. Being a Sikh, his beard and hair were very important for Bhagat Singh. But he got his hair cut so that the British could not catch him. Eventually he managed to escape from Lahore after the murder of British police officer John Saunders.

4. About a year after the murder of British police officer John Saunders, Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt hurled bombs at the Central Assembly Hall in Delhi and raised slogans of Inquilab Zindabad. Also, this time he allowed himself to be arrested.


5. Even inside the jail, Bhagat Singh's revolutionary attitude continued. He aggressively motivated the prisoners for the independence of India and chewed the British with a knife.

6. At the time of hearing his case, he did not present any defense of his own, instead he used this opportunity to publicize India's plan of independence.



7. He was sentenced to death on 7 October 1930, which he heard fearlessly.

8. While in jail, he demanded good treatment of prisoners of foreign origin. He also went on a 116-day hunger strike to protest discrimination against him in treatment.



9. His hanging sentence was reduced from 11 hours from 24 March 1931 to 7:30 pm on 23 March 1931. The judge who sentenced him to death was named GC Was hilton.

10. It is said that no magistrate was willing to be present at the time of his execution. After the real warrant of his death expired, a judge signed the warrant and was present till the time of hanging.



11. People say that Bhagat Singh laughingly went to the gallows and "destroy British imperialism", this was his last slogan against the British.


12. It is said that Bhagat Singh's last wish was that he should be shot dead instead of hanging. But the British did not accept his wish.



13. In this way, India's most famous freedom fighter was hanged at the age of only 

23 years. His death inspired hundreds of people to participate in the freedom movement.
